In the words of Ferris Bueller, life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around every once and a while, you might miss it.
I am so glad you found me. I am a Needham, Massachusetts-based family photographer who specializes in natural light, lifestyle photography. What does that mean? Well, I don’t cart around a lot of equipment. The sun and my camera are my two best tools. Lifestyle means that my work is not over-posed or formal. I try to capture children and families in settings where everyone can feel free to be themselves. I take most of my photos outdoors, but love a good in-home session.
As a kid, I loved taking pictures. My first camera was a pink Le Click pocket 110. Remember those? My friend Amy and I would save up our money and buy rolls and rolls of film. Although most of my first portraits were of stuffed animals, I was hooked. It wasn’t until I became a mother that my flirtation with photography became an obsession. I got my first DSLR in 2007, and taught myself how to use it. As I began to amass a robust collection of personal photos, I found myself wanting to spread the joy. When my friends asked me to photograph their kids, I was more than happy to oblige. Their positive encouragement and feedback gave me the courage to dive headfirst into the business of family photography.
I started my business in January 2013, and it has been a wild ride. I love what I do, and I love the people who I work for. I am a better mom and a better wife, and an all-around better person when I am taking pictures. In order to keep myself learning and growing, I regularly participate in professional development workshops that push me outside of my comfort zone. My husband and my kids inspire me daily, but I also look to the work of other photographers, designers, and artists to keep my creative juices flowing. Want to learn more? Reach out and say hello!
