When this new mom reached out to me to inquire about a newborn session, something just clicked with us. They had recently moved back from living abroad, and were eager to photograph their gorgeous little one. As we chatted, she shared with me that she had gotten my name from another friend of hers, who I had also done newborn photos for. That friend had gotten my name from ANOTHER friend, whose newborn I had also photographed. As an aside, this is my absolute favorite way to find new clients. Word of mouth is everything to me. I was already feeling SO good about this situation when I learned that we also shared the same dog breed, and we were both a little obsessed with our dogs!
One of my favorite things to do is ask my newborn families if they would like me to include a special memento in a few shots. Oftentimes I will get a request to photograph a newborn wrapped in a vintage blanket that has sentimental value. In this scenario, I photographed little Marlowe beside a toy that had once belonged to her grandfather. It was so nice to honor his memory in this small but very special way. Needless to say, this newborn session was pure joy for me.
